About Us

The Doylestown Art League is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The League was founded in 1959 by the late Walter Fell and seeks to promote art awareness and education through its activities. These include Members Shows, art classes and workshops, monthly meetings and field trips.

Membership is open to anyone, artist or non-artist, 16 years or older, who is interested in supporting the visual arts. Our monthly meetings are free and open to the public. They are held at the James Lorah Auditorium, Broad and Main Streets, Doylestown on the first Thursday of the month. Featured are guest artist speakers who talk on their work process, their techniques and their inspirations.

The Doylestown Art League has two Members Shows each year, in the spring and in the fall. We also have numerous Classes and Workshops in Watercolor, Oils and other Media.

Our Laura Hager Student Art Award program seeks to encourage art students of the Central Bucks School District. One graduating student from each of the Central Bucks High Schools is selected by our judging committee to receive this annual award. Selection is based on a review of their portfolio and an assessment of their creativity, technical ability and the presentation of their work.
