"Surviving the Juried Show Experience"

At our meeting, Christine McHugh will be presenting a talk "Surviving the Juried Show Experience".

Christine will share her experiences as both a painter and a juror, and will offer some guidance to help artists of all levels successfully navigate the entry process for a juried show. If you ever have wondered what a juror is looking for, this is your opportunity to find out. She welcomes questions on what goes through the mind of a juror, what's important and how she comes to a decision, so come prepared.

While working as manager of Gratz Gallery, Christine has had the opportunity to handle and study the works of the Pennsylvania Impressionists, as well as other famous American painters. This has greatly influenced her knowledge of composition and color.

Christine is the founder of Big Tree Studios at the her family farm in Upper Bucks County. This is the culmination of a dream to create a space that supports not only Christine's works, but the works of the region’s many gifted artists.

Christine has juried several shows in the area including the Tinicum Arts Festival.
