January Meeting

Michael Adams is a freelance illustrator, designer and a fine artist. He is well known in the collectible industry and designs product lines in a variety of themes and subject matter. He has illustrated numerous children’s books and is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. As a fine artist, he is recognized for his portraits of birds and landscapes in watercolor, acrylic and sculpture. He teaches watercolor classes at the Norristown Art League.

While in the woods, I am always searching for something. I'm not always sure what it will be, but there it is. For the past two years I have been painting these moments experienced on my hikes in Evansburg State Park. I use a variety of reference photos to redesign the images to create a visual narrative of these events.

Michael will be talking about his inspiration from these experiences and the techniques he uses to translate his collected images into a finished painting. He will be showing examples of his work.
